The ongoing investigation involving the case of the renowned politician Alexei Navalny has taken a dramatic turn. The mother of the politician, Lyudmila Navalnaya, was presented with an ultimatum by the investigating authorities. The predicament put forth by the investigators was a choice between consenting to a secret burial for her son, or accepting the alternative of having him buried within the confines of the colony. This crucial information was divulged by Kira Yarmish, who happens to be the press secretary of the embattled politician.
As Yarmish recounts, it was barely an hour ago when the investigator contacted Navalny’s mother with the unexpected ultimatum. The terms were clear and non-negotiable – Lyudmila Navalnaya was given a time frame of three hours within which she must agree to a clandestine burial, devoid of any public farewell. Failure to accept these conditions would result in Alexei Navalny being buried within the colony, as stated by the investigator.
This proposition, however, was met with strong resistance from Navalnaya. She outrightly refused to engage in any negotiations with the Investigative Committee. According to her staunch stance, the Committee does not possess any authority to make decisions regarding the manner and location of her son’s burial. She asserted her rights, expressing her unwillingness to yield to the ultimatum issued by the authorities.
