Minister Piyush Goyal Addresses Controversial Hacking Issue

Union Minister Piyush Goyal has dismissed allegations that Apple’s “state-sponsored attack” message sent to some Opposition leaders was a deliberate act by the government. Goyal suggested that it may have been a prank played on the leaders and advised them to file an official complaint so that appropriate action can be taken. He criticized the Opposition for seeing conspiracy in everything and stated that Apple itself has clarified that it was a malfunction. Goyal emphasized that the government has no role in this incident and called on the Opposition to focus on their own weaknesses rather than commenting on the government. Congress leader Mallikarjun Kharge, party’s General Secretary KC Venugopal, and other opposition leaders also received the warning message, leading to allegations that the government was behind the breach attempt. RJD MP and AAP MP Raghav Chaddha expressed concern over the incident, while Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi called it a sponsored program of the Central Government and demanded an investigation. However, according to Apple, state-sponsored attacks are highly complex and not targeted at the vast majority of users. Apple notifies targeted users through threat notifications and email alerts if suspicious activity is detected.
