In a statement provided by Jill Christianson, Maximus’ aunt, she expressed the family’s devastation. She described Maximus as a shining example of kindness and service to his friends and family. He brought joy, laughter, and bravery to those around him, and his loss has left a void in their hearts.
According to the Sevier County Sheriff’s Office, Maximus was helping clean up at his family’s corn maze in Venice, Utah when he went missing. Concerned, his family searched for him and eventually found him with the rope around his neck. He was not breathing and had no pulse at the time. Maximus, the fifth child of Lee and April Knight, is survived by his parents and four siblings. His obituary described him as a cherished baby brother who loved spending time with his family and going on outings. He enjoyed wrestling, driving tractors in the corn maze, and serving as a deacon in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Maximus attended Red Hills Middle School and participated in wrestling.
Friends and family remember Maximus as someone who always stood up for others and cared deeply about their well-being. He had a close bond with his siblings and sought their help when needed. A GoFundMe campaign was set up by Maximus’ aunt to support the family during this difficult time, and it raised over $25,000 before closing.
