Former Trump ally and attorney, Michael Cohen, criticized the recent testimony of former President Trump’s sons in the New York civil fraud trial. Speaking with MSNBC’s Ali Velshi, Cohen expressed his belief that both Trump children lied under oath and were following in their father’s footsteps. He compared their dishonesty to breathing, stating, “the guy lies the way you breathe, and the kids are doing the same thing.” Cohen questioned the intelligence of Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, asking, “How stupid do they have to be?”
During their back-to-back testimonies, the Trump children denied any involvement in their father’s financial statements and distanced themselves from the Trump Organization’s financial records, which are crucial to the attorney general’s case against the family business. New York Attorney General Letitia James has accused Trump, his sons, and the organization of artificially inflating and deflating asset values to obtain tax breaks and better insurance coverage.
Cohen suggested that the Trump sons lacked proper legal preparation before their testimonies and wondered if they regarded the trial as a joke. As a key witness in the fraud trial, Cohen, who was once Trump’s personal attorney and professed his willingness to take a bullet for him, joined the proceedings. However, their relationship has deteriorated in recent years, resulting in hundreds of threats directed at Cohen from Trump supporters.
