AAP Makes Key Decisions to Combat Pollution

New Delhi continues to suffer from severe air pollution for the fifth consecutive day, leading to a high-level meeting convened by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. In order to combat this issue, several key decisions have been taken by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). Here are the measures that have been implemented:

1. Implementation of the odd-even rule: From November 13 to 20, the odd-even rule will be enforced in Delhi. This means that vehicles with odd-numbered license plates will be allowed on the roads on certain days, while those with even-numbered plates will be permitted on alternate days. The decision on extending this rule further will be made at a later date.

2. Restrictions on construction activities: All construction activities, including public projects such as roads and bridges, have been completely halted. This is to minimize dust and pollution caused by these activities.

3. Closure of schools: In order to protect the health of students, all schools in Delhi will remain closed until November 10, except for those students appearing for Class 10 and 12 board exams.

4. Ban on certain vehicles: The ban on BS3 petrol and BS4 diesel vehicles will continue. Only trucks carrying essential commodities and running on LNG or CNG will be allowed to enter Delhi. This is to reduce emissions from vehicles.

5. Work from home policy: A decision regarding the implementation of a work from home policy for 50% of government and private office staff in Delhi will be made soon. This is aimed at reducing the number of vehicles on the roads and subsequently decreasing pollution levels.

These measures have been taken in an effort to address the severe pollution crisis in Delhi. The government is actively working towards finding sustainable solutions and improving the air quality in the city.
