Actress Rashmika Mandanna has expressed her concern over a viral deepfake video that has been circulating online. The video appears to show her entering an elevator, but Mandanna has clarified that it is not her and called the video “extremely scary”. She emphasized the potential harm caused by the misuse of technology and urged the community to address the issue urgently. Mandanna also expressed gratitude for the support she receives from her family, friends, and well-wishers. She highlighted the vulnerability of individuals to identity theft and the importance of protecting oneself in the digital age. The manipulated video, which features British-Indian influencer Zara Patel morphed into Mandanna’s face using deepfake technology, has shocked the internet. Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan, who co-starred with Mandanna in the film “Goodbye”, called for legal action in response to the video. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekhar also reminded social media platforms of their legal obligations to combat misinformation. Mandanna, known for her roles in “Mission Majnu” and “Pushpa: The Rule”, will soon be seen in the highly anticipated film “Animal” alongside Ranbir Kapoor.
