Suspect in custody for presumed murder of missing couple from Washington

A suspect has been arrested in the disappearance of a Washington couple who have been missing since Monday, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s office announced on Friday night that they have identified a suspect and believe that the couple was killed in an attack at their home in Lacey. The suspect, a man in his 40s from Olympia, Washington, was taken into custody on two counts of first-degree murder and one count of kidnapping. The suspect was known to the couple.

The missing couple, Karen Koep and her partner Davido, were reported missing after Koep failed to show up for work as a chiropractor. When neither Koep nor Davido could be reached, police were called to their home for a wellness check, but they were not found there. The couple’s car, a 2015 silver Toyota Yaris, was later discovered on a street in Lacey.

Koep’s sister, Pauline Dutton, expressed her belief that the couple did not willingly leave their home. The sheriff’s office initially described their disappearance as “suspicious” but did not provide further details.
