India Loses World Cup Final to Australia: PM Modi Stands with Team India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his support for the Indian cricket team after their loss in the Cricket World Cup final to Australia. Despite the defeat, PM Modi assured the team that the country stands with them today and always.
Australia secured their sixth World Cup title with a convincing six-wicket victory over India, thanks to a brilliant innings by Australian opener Travis Head, who scored 137 runs.
In a tweet, PM Modi praised the team for their talent and determination throughout the tournament. He commended their spirited performance and the immense pride they brought to the nation. PM Modi was present at the match in Ahmedabad and posted his message on X.
The Prime Minister also congratulated Australia on their magnificent World Cup victory. He acknowledged their commendable performance throughout the tournament, culminating in a splendid triumph. PM Modi specifically praised Travis Head for his remarkable game in the final.
Travis Head’s participation in the World Cup was in doubt due to a fractured hand he suffered in South Africa in September. However, Australia kept him in the squad until he was fit to play.
The Australian victory ended India’s dominant run of 10 unbeaten matches in the tournament. Australia’s bowlers played a crucial role in their victory, with Mitchell Starc and Pat Cummins contributing significantly to bowling out India for 240 runs.
Travis Head’s century in the final was the seventh in a World Cup final and the third by an Australian player, following Ricky Ponting in 2003 and Adam Gilchrist in 2007.
Despite the loss, PM Modi’s words of encouragement and support will surely uplift the spirits of the Indian cricket team as they reflect on their journey in the World Cup.
