A high-rise construction crane collapsed in the Philippines after a powerful earthquake struck the region on Friday. The magnitude 6.7 quake occurred about 16 miles southwest of Sarangani’s coastal area at around 4 p.m. local time, as reported by the US Geological Survey (USGS). Nilo Pateno captured a video showing the moment the crane snapped, resulting in the construction materials it was carrying crashing into the building and falling to the ground. Local news station confirmed that a house was struck by a large piece of debris from the incident, although no injuries were reported by the Davao City Police. However, Reuters stated that one person died in the quake near the epicenter, with at least 18 others sustaining injuries.
