Acer Introduces Nitro V 15, a Gaming Laptop Entry Point Now at $700

Acer has introduced its new Nitro V 15 series of gaming laptops, offering entry-level prices that are even lower than its budget Nitro 5 line. The starting price for these laptops is $700, with the highest configuration priced at $1,000. Acer is targeting consumers who are not hardcore gamers but still want a more powerful option than a typical budget laptop, suitable for occasional gaming.

The base configuration (NV15-51-53VM) seems to be exclusive to Costco at the moment, but its specifications are not very impressive. It features a 15.6-inch, 144Hz 1080p (FHD) screen, an Intel Core i5-13420H processor, a 512GB SSD, 8GB RAM, and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 2050, which is two generations old and not ideal for Nvidia’s upscaling technology. However, it can handle low-power games and cloud gaming.

For a price of $770 (ANV15-51-532J), consumers can upgrade to the last-generation RTX 3050, which is worth the extra money. But the most recommended model in the lineup is the $1,000 version (V15-51-73B9), which offers improved components such as 16GB RAM, a current-model RTX 4050, and a Core i7-13620H processor. There is also a $1,000 model exclusive to Newegg (ANV15-51-75HE) that doubles the SSD capacity. Higher configurations with up to 32GB RAM and 2TB SSD are available, but their prices have not been disclosed.

In international markets, the laptops come with a 165Hz screen, although it is likely to be a mediocre display similar to competing models like the Asus ROG G15.

All configurations of the Nitro V 15 series support DTS:X Ultra audio and Wi-Fi 6. Common features include three USB-A ports, one Thunderbolt 4/USB-C port, a combo audio jack, Ethernet, and HDMI.

Acer plans to make the Nitro V 15 laptops available for purchase on its website starting in October, except for the base model.
