Actress Kicked Off Set for Refusing to Comply with Demands

Supermodel and actress Aditi Govitrikar recently opened up about her casting couch experience in an interview with Siddharth Kannan. Following the Me Too Movement, many stars from the Indian film and television industry have been sharing their own experiences.

Aditi recalled an incident during the shoot of a major film in South Africa. She didn’t initially realize that the person she was working with was making inappropriate advances towards her. In response, she laughed in his face and walked away, unintentionally hurting his ego. The next day, Aditi and her team were asked to wrap up and return to Bombay.

Later, Aditi was called for a meeting after shooting for a few days. The producers gave her unnecessary excuses, but she understood that she had been removed from the film because she had refused the advances. Aditi didn’t fully comprehend what had happened at the time.

Actress Suchitra Krishnamoorthi, best known for her work in “Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa,” also spoke about facing the casting couch in the industry. She recounted an incident where a filmmaker-producer asked her to spend the night with him. Suchitra, feeling uncomfortable, quickly left the situation, realizing what the person’s intentions were.

Aditi Govitrikar is recognized for her roles in films like “Bheja Fry 2,” “Paheli,” and “Mismatched.” She made history in 2001 as the first Indian woman to win the Mrs. World title.
