The Adani Group, headed by industrialist Gautam Adani, has denied any involvement in the construction of Uttarakhand’s Silkyara tunnel, where 41 construction workers have been trapped for over two weeks. The conglomerate released a statement clarifying that it neither owns nor holds any shares in the company responsible for the tunnel’s construction. The workers have been trapped 260 meters inside the tunnel since November 12 following a landslide. The tunnel, part of the Char Dham all-weather accessibility project, is being built by Navayuga Engineering Company Limited, based in Hyderabad. The Adani Group strongly condemned any attempts to connect their name to the collapse and expressed their thoughts and prayers for the trapped workers and their families.
