Osama Hamdan, who holds a position in the Politburo of Hamas, a recognized terrorist organization, has refuted claims by American media outlets regarding any significant strides being made in negotiations with Israel. He asserts that such reports are far from the truth.
Hamdan has revealed that the negotiations held in Paris this week yielded no agreement on a proposed “prisoner exchange” deal between Israel and Hamas, despite the discussions that took place.
A representative from Hamas has stated that Israel has consistently dismissed proposals put forth by the White House, undermining US President Joe Biden’s aspirations for a swift ceasefire in the conflict-ridden region of Gaza. This casts doubt on the optimism for the ceasefire.
Hamdan has accused the White House of leveraging the proposed deal’s details to sway public opinion in the Arab world. He has stressed that these “details” that the media outlets are disseminating are merely components of the American propaganda machinery at work.
Hamdan has expressed skepticism regarding the effectiveness of these negotiations. He alleges that the true objective of the Paris meeting, attended by the intelligence chiefs from the United States, Egypt, and Israel, alongside the Prime Minister of Qatar, was to provide the Israeli government’s leader with additional time to strategize for an impending military operation in the Gaza Strip, particularly in Rafah.
