Andhra Train Accident: Survivors Share Terrifying Ordeal

Survivors of the train accident in Vizianagaram, Andhra Pradesh, have shared their harrowing experiences of the incident. The passengers on board the train felt sudden jerks followed by a loud sound before the train came to a halt. Satyanarayana, one of the survivors, said that panic ensued after the train jerked three times. The collision between the Palasa passenger train and the Rayagada passenger train resulted in the death of 14 people and left 50 others injured. Satyanarayana, who was in the last coach, helped fellow passengers to disembark safely. He also received a call from an official asking for their exact location. A woman, who was sobbing, mentioned that children were badly hurt and one person got crushed between two seats. Meanwhile, injured individuals were being transported away from the accident site for medical attention. In a noteworthy act, a policeman carried an injured survivor from the railway tracks. Another survivor from Kothavalasa revealed that he was thrown to the floor of the coach when the collision occurred. He witnessed the coach and two others turning over and saw people scattered around. Eventually, he managed to escape the coach. He also mentioned seeing a person die and witnessing numerous injuries, including broken limbs, among the passengers.
