Asif Ali Zardari Claims Bilawal is Inadequately Prepared for Politics

Former Pakistani President, Asif Ali Zardari, expressed his view that his son and chairman of the Pakistan People’s Party, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, lacks complete training in politics and requires further guidance. Zardari acknowledged that while Bilawal may be more educated than him, experience is an invaluable teacher.

Zardari made these remarks during an interview with Pakistani journalist Hamid Mir. In the interview, Zardari discussed his motivations for being involved in politics, stating that it is a compulsion rather than a necessity. He emphasized that his involvement in politics is driven by the debt he owes to his late wife, Benazir Bhutto, and his father-in-law, Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, both of whom were martyred. Zardari also mentioned the sacrifices made by thousands of party workers. He stated that Bilawal is currently undergoing training and will require time to develop his political skills.

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, in his recent speeches, has stressed the significance of younger politicians and urged older politicians to step aside. He believes that the younger generation holds the key to the country’s future and has encouraged his father and senior leader of the PML-N, Nawaz Sharif, to make decisions that would facilitate the participation of young politicians.

According to Dawn, during a session in the National Assembly in August, Bilawal, who is the youngest foreign minister in the nation’s history, expressed his concerns about the younger generation losing hope in the country’s future. He called on senior politicians to make politics more accessible and inclusive for young people.

Zardari’s acknowledgment of Bilawal’s talents, education, and communication skills highlights his potential as a future leader. However, Zardari believes that practical experience is essential in politics and that Bilawal needs time to acquire it.

Overall, Zardari’s comments shed light on the ongoing efforts to groom Bilawal as a political leader while recognizing the importance of experience in the realm of politics.
