Bengaluru Street Harassment: Husband Shares Disturbing Tale of Wife’s Ordeal

A man in Bengaluru, India, has recently shared a frightening incident involving his wife on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). According to the post, the man’s wife was driving with two female colleagues and one male colleague when their car was chased by a group of men. The incident has sparked a debate on social media, with users sharing their own experiences.

In the viral post, user Srijan R Shetty expressed his concern for the safety of certain parts of Bengaluru, particularly after 10 p.m. He mentioned the videos of fake accidents in Sarjapur, where criminals have attempted to blackmail people in their cars. On November 8, his wife offered to drop off her colleagues due to the difficulty of finding a cab in Sarjapur. However, their car was chased by a group of men for several kilometers.

Fortunately, the wife used her quick thinking and stopped the car on the main road to inform the police. The men even demanded that the occupants of the car get out, and the car was hit by tempo drivers, adding to the pressure. Shockingly, none of the bystanders helped the three women and the male colleague in the car.

The husband commended his wife for her swift decision-making in contacting the police and alerting him and their friends. He emphasized the need for better security in the city, especially in Sarjapur, which has been a hotspot for such incidents.

The post gained significant attention online, with users sharing similar experiences. Some users advised registering a First Information Report (FIR) with the police to ensure that the criminals are properly punished. The Bengaluru police also responded to the incident, requesting specific details about the location.

It is worth noting that Bengaluru has experienced numerous incidents in which criminals attempted to extort money using fake accidents or staged vehicle crashes. The city is now facing a pressing need to address this growing menace and ensure the safety of its residents.
