BJP’s Vasundhara Raje Headed to Delhi as Chief Minister Selection Remains Uncertain

Amid uncertainty surrounding the selection of the BJP’s chief minister for Rajasthan, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, a senior party leader, was on her way to New Delhi on Wednesday night. She was scheduled to take a flight to Delhi. Sources in the Raje camp revealed that she would be meeting the party high command on Thursday.

This development followed a meeting between Raje and nearly 60 newly elected BJP MLAs at her residence in Civil Lines on Monday and Tuesday. The party’s parliamentary board will decide on the name of the chief minister, and before that, a BJP legislature party meeting will be convened. However, no official announcement has been made regarding the legislature party meeting.

Vasundhara Raje, a two-time chief minister, is considered one of the frontrunners for the position. Elections were held for 199 out of 200 seats in the state on November 25. The election in Karanpur, where it was adjourned due to the Congress candidate’s demise, will take place on January 5, with results declared on January 8.
