US Woman Missing Since June Found Dead in Boyfriend’s Fridge

A US woman who had been missing since June was tragically found wrapped in plastic and stuffed inside her boyfriend’s refrigerator on Sunday. The victim, identified as 35-year-old Heather Schwab, was reported missing by her estranged mother, who expressed concerns about her daughter’s drug abuse and feared for her safety with her boyfriend, 42-year-old Chad Stevens.

Authorities in McKinney, Texas, discovered the horrifying scene when they searched Stevens’ home on November 6. According to a police report cited by The New York Post, the entrance to the kitchen had been concealed with sheetrock, creating a separate space. After breaking through the temporary wall, officers discovered Schwab’s body wrapped in “lots of plastic wrap” and hidden in the fridge.

The cause of Schwab’s death remains unknown. However, Stevens admitted to police that she died in late July and he placed her in the refrigerator because he didn’t know what else to do.

The investigation took a twist when Stevens provided conflicting stories about the incident. Initially, he claimed that Schwab had left him and he had no knowledge of her whereabouts. But more recently, he alleged that she died three days after falling in the shower and hitting her head. He even told neighbors a different story, stating that she passed away from cancer.

Stevens is now facing charges of tampering with evidence, though additional charges are anticipated. The New York Post highlighted his extensive criminal record, which includes convictions for assault, theft, and drug offenses. In 2022, police were called to his residence after receiving reports of domestic violence, where a man was reportedly screaming while a woman brandished a gun. Authorities believe it was Schwab and Stevens involved in the incident.

Schwab’s mother was informed of her daughter’s tragic fate when Stevens’ ex-wife contacted her, revealing that he had killed Schwab and buried her in the backyard.
