Deputies in rural Wisconsin were captured on body camera footage working together to rescue a large buck that had become entangled in barbed wire. The incident took place on Sunday, November 12, and had reportedly been ongoing for the past two days before the authorities were alerted.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office in Wisconsin shared the details of the rescue on their Facebook page. Upon arrival at the scene, the deputies found the exhausted deer still struggling to free itself from the barbed wire that had ensnared it around a tree. Determined to help, the officers utilized bolt cutters and a reciprocating saw to carefully cut the animal free.

In the heartwarming footage, both the deer and its rescuers can be seen visibly worn out from the intense encounter. As the buck finally broke free, one of the deputies exclaimed, “I’m sweating really bad,” highlighting the physical exertion required to save the animal. With a renewed lease on life, the deer swiftly galloped off into the distance, ready to live another day.
