Coast Guard Heroically Saves Fishermen as Boat Engulfs in Flames near Andhra Pradesh

A boat fire broke out near Kakinada in Andhra Pradesh, leaving fishermen in a dangerous situation. The incident occurred when a gas cylinder on the boat started leaking, trapping the fishermen onboard. Fortunately, the fishermen acted swiftly and notified the Coast Guard personnel who were patrolling the area.

The Coast Guard team wasted no time and promptly responded to the distress call. They successfully rescued all eleven fishermen from the burning boat. Sadly, the boat was engulfed in flames and eventually sank into the sea.

This incident follows a similar tragedy last month in Visakhapatnam, where 30 fishing vessels were destroyed due to a carelessly discarded cigarette butt on a boat. The fire was so intense that multiple fire engines struggled to extinguish it, and an Indian Navy vessel had to be brought in for assistance. The estimated loss from that incident was approximately ₹4-5 crores, as each boat was valued at around 15 lakh.

These incidents serve as a reminder of the potential dangers that fishermen face in their line of work. It also highlights the importance of adhering to safety measures and being cautious to prevent such accidents. Fortunately, in this latest incident, the prompt response of the Coast Guard ensured the safety of the fishermen involved.
