When he asked for water, the accused further humiliated him by urinating on him. The brutality of the attack has sparked outrage, leading to protests by the Telugu Desam Party’s Scheduled Caste (SC) cell, who blocked roads in response.

The protest, led by TDP SC cell president MMS Raju, took place near Kanchikacharla, with demonstrators demanding justice for the victim. The visuals from the protest showed the participants raising slogans and expressing their discontent. Police officials were seen intervening to disperse the crowd and restore normalcy.

MMS Raju highlighted the severity of Shyam’s injuries, stating that doctors have recommended a jaw operation that would require three days of treatment. He strongly condemned the attacks on Dalits and demanded the immediate arrest of all those involved in the incident.

Vijayawada City Police Commissioner, Kanthi Rana Tata, provided further details about the incident, stating that Shyam Kumar was assaulted by his old friend Harish Reddy and five others. Harish Reddy lured Shyam Kumar to the Shivsai Kshetra area and forcibly took him to Guntur, where he was brutally attacked inside a car.
