Denver International Airport (DIA) experienced significant delays and a brief ground stop on Friday, November 17, due to dense fog. An airplane attempting to land was captured on video by Paul Thompson, but ultimately had to abort the landing and ascend again. The airplane eventually landed 43 minutes later, according to FlightAware. As of early Friday afternoon, FlightAware also reported 195 delays and four cancellations at the airport. The ground stop at DIA, which was announced at around 7:30 am, lasted until 8:45 am, as confirmed by the Federal Aviation Administration. The National Weather Service issued warnings about persistent dense fog throughout the day.
