A man in Florida has been arrested following an incident of road rage in Marion County. Christopher Gallagher, 39, allegedly punched a 17-year-old boy through his car window after a heated exchange on the road. The incident occurred on Saturday in the 17780 block of SE 155th Ave. The victim stated that he was driving in the area when Gallagher’s vehicle began tailgating him and honking his horn. Gallagher then drove recklessly and attempted to pass the teen. The victim tried to speed up to prevent him from passing, but Gallagher maneuvered into the opposite lane, then abruptly returned to his lane and slammed on his brakes, almost causing a collision. At this point, Gallagher got out of his car, approached the teen, and punched him twice while shouting obscenities. The first punch struck the left side of the teen’s head, and the second hit his left arm as he tried to defend himself. The altercation caused the teen to accidentally release his foot from the brake, resulting in his car rolling into the back of Gallagher’s vehicle. Gallagher denied punching the teen but admitted to sticking his head into his window during a verbal argument. He was charged with felony burglary with assault or battery and released from Marion County Jail after posting a $25,000 bond. No further details have been provided at this time.
