Former President Donald Trump shared an interesting revelation with his supporters during a campaign rally in Sioux City, Iowa. He disclosed that his wife, former first lady Melania Trump, disapproves of certain activities he engages in on stage because she believes they are not presidential.
During his presidency, Trump was known for his controversial stance on the LGBTQ+ community. In his speech, he attempted to rouse the audience by mocking transgender athletes and expressed his intention to ban transgender individuals from participating in women’s sports if he regains the White House in 2024. To support his argument, he referred to instances in weightlifting and swimming.
Trump turned to the crowd and asked, “What? Should I do this one or not?” He then shared his wife’s opinion, saying, “Our first lady hates it when I do. She says, ‘Darling, I love you so much, but this is not presidential when you do the weightlifting, this is not presidential, or when you do the swimming thing, it’s not… or when you dance off the stage.'”
He appeared to be on the verge of launching into his infamous “tears in their eyes” routine but corrected himself, indicating how his wife addresses him. Trump continued, “No, she said, ‘Darling, I love you, I love you, but this is not presidential. You don’t dance off the stage. This is not presidential.'”
Trump admitted that Melania was probably right, but he countered her concerns with his perspective. He told her, “Look. We got a year to go. Everybody loves us. I love everybody. The country’s going to hell in a hand-basket. Let’s do a little dancing.” He concluded his statement to the audience by saying, “Technically, she’s probably right. But what the hell?”
