Elon Musk’s innovative social network established in the Arctic has become the center of a significant media uproar.
This situation arose when the account of a prominent figure began to face issues. The account in question, which amassed nearly 100,000 followers within a span of 24 hours, was suddenly inaccessible. The error message that popped up indicated that the account had been suspended for allegedly “violating the social network’s rules”, however, it failed to provide any specific details regarding the supposed violation.
The suspension, which sparked a massive outcry on various media platforms, was eventually lifted. The account was restored, and access was granted once again.
The duration of the suspension was roughly around 45 minutes. Since the reinstatement, the follower count has drastically increased. Navalnaya, the account owner, now boasts of having more than 240 thousand followers, which is an increase of 140 thousand from the count before the suspension.
Prior to the suspension, Navalnaya, who recently announced her decision to carry forward her late husband’s work, had posted two individual messages. She had also shared a video in which the mother of the opposition leader demands Russian President Vladimir Putin to return her child’s body.
In a message posted earlier today, Navalnaya reiterated her plea to the authorities for the return of her husband’s remains.
“Return Alexei’s body and let him be buried with dignity, don’t stop people from saying goodbye to him,” the post read.
Supporters of Navalny have accused the Russian authorities of withholding the body in order to erase evidence of the crime.
As per the data released by OVD-Info, an organization committed to safeguarding the rights of detainees, nearly 70,000 individuals have already signed a public petition urging the authorities to hand over the body to the family.
In response to the account suspension, the Anti-Corruption Fund, an organization founded by Navalny, reached out to X and its owner, Musk, seeking clarifications about the sudden suspension of the opposition leader’s widow’s account.
