Enforcement Directorate Conducts Raids in Haryana and Rajasthan in Money Laundering Case Involving Lawrence Bishnoi Gang

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang is currently under investigation for money laundering, with the Enforcement Directorate conducting multiple raids in Haryana and Rajasthan. As part of the probe, the agency is raiding approximately twelve locations in the two states under the provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

The raids come after the National Investigation Agency (NIA), Haryana Police, and other state police filed FIRs and charge sheets against Lawrence Bishnoi and his deputy, Satwinderjit Singh alias Goldy Brar. Bishnoi, who is currently in jail, is one of the accused in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala.

The Enforcement Directorate is investigating allegations that Bishnoi and his gang members were sending funds generated in India through extortion and the smuggling of drugs and arms to Canada and other countries. These funds were allegedly being used by pro-Khalistan supporters.

Bishnoi, a resident of Fazilka in Punjab, has been in jail since 2014 after being arrested during an encounter with the Rajasthan Police. He was later transferred to Delhi’s Tihar jail in 2021 and then arrested by the Punjab Police on June 14, 2022, in connection with the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala. Bishnoi frequently changes jails as various police agencies continue to take him into custody for cases they are investigating.

According to the NIA, investigations have revealed that Bishnoi’s syndicate, which includes terrorists, gangsters, and drug smugglers, has been involved in targeted killings and extortion from businessmen and professionals, causing widespread fear and terror among the public.

The Enforcement Directorate’s raids in Haryana and Rajasthan are part of the ongoing efforts to uncover the extent of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang’s money laundering activities and bring those responsible to justice.
