Former TCS Employee Calls in Bomb Threat While Intoxicated After Being Laid Off

A former employee of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) in Bengaluru’s Electronic City caused panic yesterday morning by making a bomb threat call to the TCS office. The police have revealed that the ex-employee, who was laid off, made the call under the influence of alcohol.

The bomb threat call was made by a woman from Belagavi, located around 500 km from Bengaluru. She was fired by TCS and called one of the company’s cab drivers, claiming that a bomb had been planted in the B Block of the campus. The police stated that the woman knew the cab driver from her time working at TCS.

In response to the threat, the police conducted a thorough inspection of the B Block area with the assistance of a bomb disposal squad. However, no evidence of any bomb was found.

The police have taken the woman’s statement in her hometown of Belagavi, which is a district near the border with Goa.

The incident has caused alarm among TCS employees and highlights the potential risks associated with disgruntled former employees. Investigations are ongoing, and further updates are awaited.
