Four government employees in Jammu and Kashmir have been terminated from their positions due to their alleged involvement in pro-separatist activities. The dismissed employees include Assistant Professor (Medicine) Nisar-ul-Hassan from SMHS Hospital Srinagar, Constable Abdul Majeed Bhat, Laboratory bearer Abdul Salam Rather from the Higher Education Department, and teacher Farooq Ahmad Mir from the Education Department. Their dismissal was carried out in accordance with Article 311 of the Constitution of India, as stated by the administration.
Article 311 of the Constitution allows for the termination of an official if it is deemed that holding an inquiry is not expedient in the interest of the state’s security. The Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir has taken action against more than 50 employees in the past three years for allegedly aiding Pakistani terror organizations while working in government positions. These employees were receiving salaries from the Indian government but were found to be providing support to terrorists and spreading their ideology.
Earlier in June, a public relations officer from Kashmir University, a revenue department official, and a police officer were also fired for their alleged involvement in raising funds for Pakistani terror organizations.
The dismissals highlight the government’s commitment to ensuring the security of the state and preventing any form of support for separatist or terrorist activities within its ranks.
