Fox News Host Grills Nancy Mace with a Tough Question

In an interview with Fox News host Neil Cavuto on Wednesday, Representative Nancy Mace (R-S.C.) was confronted with allegations of being a narcissist. Cavuto pointed out that Mace had garnered significant attention in recent months due to her vote to remove Representative Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) as House speaker, her “scarlet letter” stunt, her reported TV appearance quota, and a Washington Post article in which colleagues described her as narcissistic.

Cavuto questioned Mace about her shifting alliances, saying, “There was a time that you liked Kevin McCarthy, then you didn’t, that you liked and supported Steve Scalise, and then you didn’t. Right now, you say you’re with (new House Speaker) Mike Johnson. That’s great. But they don’t trust you.” He then asked her directly about the accusations of being a narcissist, stating, “A lot of people feel that you’re a narcissist. ‘It’s all about Nancy Mace.’ What do you say?”

Mace responded by acknowledging the rough nature of politics and the inevitable attacks that come with being on the rise. She dismissed the Washington Post article, stating that she doesn’t care about their opinion of her. Instead, she emphasized that what truly matters to her is the thoughts and support of her constituents, her state, and the people she aims to represent across the country.

The interview concluded without Mace directly addressing the specific allegations of narcissism. However, Mace’s focus on prioritizing the opinions of the people she serves suggests that she remains committed to her role as a representative and is less concerned about personal attacks from critics.
