Mobilepay, the popular money transfer application, has made a public announcement on Monday, stating that there will be a significant change in its terms of use. From the beginning of May, the feature which allows users to transfer money from their credit card to other users will no longer be available.
Implications for Application Use The upcoming changes mean that users of the Mobilepay application will no longer have the ability to use their credit card to facilitate the transfer of money to other users within the application’s platform.
In its Monday announcement, Mobilepay outlined that these changes in the application’s terms of use are set to come into effect from the 4th of May.
“For those users who currently have a credit card or a combination card’s credit as the sole payment method added to the Mobilepay application, it is advisable to prepare for this upcoming change in conditions. You can do this by adding an alternative payment method to your Mobilepay account. You have the option to add a combination card debit, a bank card, or a Danske Bank bank account,” said the announcement sent to the application’s users.
However, it’s important to note that this change only applies to transfers between individual users. Users who have a credit card or a combination card with a credit feature will still be able to use these for payments for purchases in online stores, physical stores, and applications that support payment through the Mobilepay application.
Mobilepay also advises that if you do not agree with these new terms of use, you are required to notify the company before the changes come into force.
“If you inform us that you do not accept the updated terms of use, your contract with us will be terminated immediately,” the announcement further stated.
On the other hand, if no action is taken from the user’s side, Mobilepay will consider this as an implicit acceptance of the new terms of use.
