Gaza Hospital Surrounded by Tanks, WHO Loses Contact

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has expressed concern after losing contact with Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. According to reports, the hospital has been repeatedly attacked, and those who fled have been shot, wounded, or killed. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus stated that the hospital is surrounded by tanks. The safety of health workers, patients, including babies on life support, and displaced people still inside the hospital is a major concern for WHO. The organization has called for an immediate humanitarian ceasefire in Gaza to save lives and reduce suffering. They also urged for the safe evacuation of critically injured and sick patients. Meanwhile, Israel has urged the hospital staff, patients, and other Gazans to flee to the south to avoid attacks, as the war between Israel and Hamas escalates. There have been reports of gunfire targeting civilians trying to leave the hospital, with Israel claiming Hamas gunmen are responsible, while Hamas blames Israel. WHO also called for the safe medical evacuation of hostages held by Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
