George Santos Breaks Silence: No More Discussion on Lavish Designer Purchases and OnlyFans Involvement

U.S. Rep. George Santos, a Republican from New York, has announced that he will not seek reelection in 2024. This decision comes after a report by the House Ethics Committee revealed his alleged misuse of campaign funds for personal expenses, including spending on pornography. The report portrays Santos as a fabricator and fraudster, using campaign money for his own personal gain. One of the most notable findings is that Santos allegedly used campaign funds for a subscription to OnlyFans, a pornography service. These expenditures, along with other luxury purchases, highlight the misappropriation of funds meant for campaign purposes.

Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia of California condemned Santos’s actions in an interview, describing his personal fund for various expenses, including pornography and shopping sprees. Garcia emphasized the betrayal of trust towards campaign donors who believed they were supporting Santos’s political endeavors.

The report also reveals Santos’s extravagant spending habits, such as thousands of dollars at high-end retailers and visits to casinos. Additionally, it raises concerns about the appropriate use of campaign funds, particularly regarding payments made to OnlyFans. The report details how Santos used $20,000, wired to him shortly after Thanksgiving, without disclosing it to donors or the Federal Election Commission.

In response to the report, Santos took to social media to denounce its findings as biased and unjust. He announced that he will not seek reelection in 2024, citing the pressure faced by his family. Santos expressed frustration with reporters attempting to contact him, stating that he will no longer communicate with them and will focus on his neglected family.

Santos currently faces 23 federal felony charges, including wire fraud and identity theft. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges. The Ethics Committee has referred its findings to the Department of Justice, suggesting that further legal action may be taken.

Garcia, a strong advocate for Santos’s expulsion from Congress, emphasized the need for action. He mentioned that Republicans who had previously voted against expulsion are now publicly stating their intention to vote for it. Garcia expressed confidence in securing bipartisan support for expulsion, indicating a united Democratic Party and a growing number of Republicans inclined to remove Santos from office.

Lawmakers will reconvene on November 28 after the Thanksgiving break, and a vote on Santos’s future is expected at that time.
