Hollywood Agent’s Son in Custody as Body Part Discovered in Dumpster; Wife and In-Laws Still Unaccounted for

The son of a Hollywood agent, Samuel Haskell Jr, has been arrested in connection with the murder of his wife and her parents. The arrest came after body parts were discovered in trash bags at his home and a nearby dumpster in Encino, Los Angeles. The severed torso found in the dumpster is believed to belong to Haskell Jr’s 37-year-old wife, Mei Li Haskell, although DNA results are still pending. Mei Li and her parents, Gaoshan Li and YanXiang Wang, have been missing for the past week, and all attempts to contact them have been unsuccessful.

The arrest of Haskell Jr, who is 35 years old, was supported by evidence found during a search of his home. Blood and other incriminating evidence were discovered, but his wife and her parents were not found at the property. Further investigations revealed that a day laborer, hired by Haskell Jr, found body parts when opening one of the heavy black plastic trash bags removed from the house. The worker immediately informed the police, who then received a report from someone who claimed to have witnessed Haskell Jr disposing of a large trash bag in a nearby dumpster. The following day, a woman’s torso was found in that very dumpster.

Although the victim’s identity has not been officially confirmed, authorities believe it to be Mei Haskell. The investigation into the identification of the torso is still ongoing. Haskell Jr is currently being held on $2 million bail. Thankfully, the couple’s three children were found safe at school following their father’s arrest and are now under the care of the Department of Family Services.
