Houston Teen Expresses Remorse for Facing Charges After Social Media Prank Involving Violent Attacks on Innocent Strangers

A teenager from Houston, Alford Lasean Lewis, has been granted bond by the judge overseeing his case after he admitted to randomly assaulting people at a local park in order to gain likes on social media. Lewis was charged with assault with bodily injury and aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon for incidents that occurred on October 26. The prosecutor, Ashlea Sheridan, expressed serious concern over the case, stating that people should be able to enjoy outdoor activities without encountering trouble. The Harris County Sheriff’s Office reported that Lewis attacked two individuals, one of whom he punched in the back of the head. In a separate incident, Lewis approached another man, tapped him on the shoulder with a firearm, and demanded his phone. When the victim refused, Lewis threatened to shoot him in the foot, eventually coercing the victim into giving up his phone. Despite the prosecution’s request for a higher bond, the judge set Lewis’ bond at $30,000, with the condition that he wear a GPS ankle monitor and be placed under house arrest upon release. The original bond was set at $10,000, significantly lower than the prosecution’s recommendation of $75,000. The bond was increased at the request of the Harris County District Attorney’s Office, which argued that Lewis had admitted to the crime. Lewis’ friend, Kingston Miker, who filmed the incidents, has also been arrested and faces the same charges. Lewis expressed regret for his actions, stating that he made a mistake and hopes others will learn from it. He admitted to seeking attention and likes on YouTube and TikTok.
