A photo of a missing seat cushion on an IndiGo flight has sparked attention on social media, prompting a response from the airline. The incident was shared by user Subrat Patnaik on X (formerly Twitter), who found the faulty seat on flight number 6E 6798 from Pune to Nagpur on Sunday. Patnaik, who was assigned seat 10A, discovered that the cushion was missing and decided to post a photo of it on social media.
In his post, Patnaik expressed his disappointment with the airline, saying, “#Indigo !! #Flight 6E 6798 !! Seat no 10A ! Pune to Nagpur!!! Today’s status … Best way to increase profit…Pathetic.”
The photo quickly gained attention from other social media users who criticized the low-cost airline. Some users speculated that IndiGo might start charging passengers for cushions in the future, while others condemned the airline for its poor service.
IndiGo responded to the incident on X, stating, “Hi, that’s certainly not good to see. At times, the seat cushion gets adrift from its Velcro. The same can be repositioned with the help of our crew. Further, your feedback will be shared with the concerned team for review. Hope to serve you better in the future.”
This is not the first time IndiGo has faced scrutiny for its services. Actors Pooja Hegde and Rana Daggubati have previously shared their negative experiences and encounters with rude staff members. In 2022, Daggubati criticized the airline for not being able to track his missing luggage and their lack of punctuality. IndiGo apologized and assured the delivery of his luggage. Hegde also criticized an IndiGo official for their arrogant and threatening behavior.
Additionally, in May of last year, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) fined IndiGo airlines ₹ 5 lakh for denying boarding to a boy with special needs in Ranchi.
The response from IndiGo regarding the missing seat cushion incident has yet to be seen.
