Colleagues Devastated by Brutal Murder of Karnataka Officer
In a shocking incident, colleagues of a Karnataka government officer are mourning the loss of one of their bravest officers. Prathima KS, 45, who worked with the Mines and Geology Department, was found brutally stabbed to death at her home in Bengaluru’s Subramanyapora. Her husband and son were not at home at the time of the incident, as they were in Shivamogga district, 300 km away from Bengaluru.
A senior officer from the Karnataka Environment Department expressed his disbelief over the tragic event and described Prathima as a “very dynamic lady” who had gained a great reputation in the department through her hard work. He mentioned her recent successful raids and actions, which further enhanced her standing within the department. “She didn’t make any enemies. She followed the new rules diligently and earned a remarkable reputation,” the officer added.
Prathima, who had been working in Bengaluru’s rural areas, had completed her MSc at a college in Shivamogga. She had been employed in Ramnagara, Bengaluru for over a year.
The incident occurred around 8:30 pm when Prathima’s driver dropped her off at home after work. Her brother, who arrived at her residence early Sunday, discovered her lifeless body. Concerned by her lack of response to his phone call the previous night, he immediately alerted the police.
Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has assured that a thorough investigation will be conducted into the murder, and those responsible will be brought to justice.
