Iran threatens severe retaliation if Gaza attacks persist

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Hossein Amirabdollahian, issued a warning on Wednesday regarding the ongoing attacks on the Gaza Strip. He stated that if the attacks by the United States and Israel continue, there would be “harsh consequences.” Iran has consistently supported Hamas in Gaza and various militias in the region.

Amirabdollahian made these comments during a news conference in Ankara, Turkey. He emphasized the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip to halt the rapid attacks by the US and the Zionist Regime. However, he did not provide any specifics about Iran’s plans in response to the situation.

The United States and Israel have recently targeted Iranian-backed militias in the wider region in response to what they claim were unprovoked attacks. These incidents have raised concerns about the potential escalation of the Gaza conflict into a larger-scale war.

Iran has expressed its support for Hamas but denies any involvement in the militants’ attack on Israel last month. Both Iran and Turkey have condemned Israel’s subsequent bombardment of Gaza.

Amirabdollahian also mentioned that Iran’s President, Ebrahim Raisi, has an upcoming visit to Turkey scheduled.

The situation in the Gaza Strip remains tense, with Iran warning of severe consequences if the attacks persist. As the conflict continues, diplomatic efforts are underway to secure a ceasefire and prevent further escalation.
