Iran’s President Raisi emphasizes the urgency for action rather than mere rhetoric regarding Gaza

Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi emphasized the need for action rather than mere talk regarding the conflict in Gaza as he departed for Saudi Arabia to attend a summit on the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas militants. Speaking at Tehran airport, Raisi stated, “Gaza is not a place for empty rhetoric. It demands concrete action.” He further stressed the significance of unity among Islamic nations, stating, “Today, the unity of Islamic countries is of utmost importance.”

This visit marks the first time an Iranian head of state has traveled to Saudi Arabia since the two nations ended years of hostility through a China-brokered deal in March. Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian, who accompanied Raisi, expressed that the summit would send a strong message to warmongers in the region and contribute to ending war crimes in Palestine, as reported by the Padolat government website.

Raisi also criticized the United States, claiming that their statements about not wanting an escalation of the war were contradicted by their actions. He accused America of controlling the war machine in Gaza and obstructing a ceasefire while expanding the conflict. Raisi called on the world to see the true face of America.

The summit aims to address the ongoing conflict in Gaza and bring about a resolution. The participation of Iranian President Raisi signifies a new chapter in relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia.
