Israel Sends Message to Gazans: Hamas Loses Control Over North Gaza

Israeli Forces Claim Hamas Has Lost Control Over Northern Gaza

Israeli forces have claimed that Hamas, the Palestinian militant group, has lost its control over northern Gaza. This announcement comes amidst a delay in a truce deal that aims to end the brutal war between Israel and Hamas for a period of four days and facilitate the release of hostages.

The Israeli military has set a deadline of 4 pm (local time) for residents of Gaza City to evacuate to the humanitarian zone. However, they have also warned that Hamas may attempt to prevent them from moving southwards.

In a message addressed to the civilians in northern Gaza, particularly those residing in the neighborhoods of the Old City of Jabalia and Shuja’iya, the Israel Defence Forces (IDF) urged them to immediately evacuate their residential areas to ensure their safety. The IDF advised them to use the Salah al-Din Road to reach the south of Wadi Gaza and the humanitarian zone.

The military has also informed that there will be a local tactical pause in military activity between 10 am and 2 pm in the al-Salam and al-Manara neighborhoods in Khan Yunis.

“Hamas has lost its control over northern Gaza and is trying to prevent you from moving south for your safety,” stated the IDF, while also providing a helpline for those encountering obstacles in their path.

As part of the truce agreement, Hamas was expected to release at least 50 hostages or 150 Palestinian prisoners. However, this release has been delayed due to last-minute details regarding which hostages will be released and how.

The conflict between Israel and Hamas has been ongoing for almost seven weeks. Israel has carried out relentless bombings and a ground offensive in the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip. According to Hamas, over 14,000 people, including numerous children, have been killed in the Israeli counterattack.

The situation is currently awaiting a response.
