Israeli Army Shoots Dead 10-Year-Old Boy South of Nablus in West Bank

This Monday marked a tragic day in Burin, located south of the city of Nablus, where a 10-year-old boy lost his life while two others sustained injuries. The harrowing incident occurred as a result of gunshots fired by the Israeli Army during a military operation. This occurrence is part of the recent surge in raids conducted by Israeli troops in the West Bank.

As reported by the WAFA news agency, the young victim, identified as Amr Mohamed Najar, succumbed to a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The director of the Red Crescent Ambulance and Emergency Center in Nablus, Ahmed Jibril, reported that two more individuals have been injured in the incident.

The Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Education expressed its condemnation of the young boy’s death on its Facebook profile. On the same day, another casualty was reported, this time a 16-year-old teenager, Mustafa abu Shalbka. He was also shot dead by the Israeli Army during a military operation in Ramallah.

Further developments on Monday included the demolition of a home in Nablus, belonging to a Palestinian accused of the death of a British-Israeli citizen and her two daughters. The fatal attack was carried out in April 2023 in the West Bank. Israeli forces enclosed the building located in the Al Majfiya neighborhood, and proceeded with the evacuation of the neighboring apartments before planting explosives in the house and demolishing it.

Local sources have reported that approximately ten families were compelled to leave their homes due to the operation. Additionally, 15 individuals received treatment for respiratory problems arising from the release of gas canisters by the Israeli forces.

In May 2023, the Israeli authorities announced the death of three Palestinians who were allegedly involved in the April 7 attack near the settlement of Efrat, in the Jordan Valley. The attack resulted in the death of Lucy Dee and her daughters, Maia and Rina.
