Jealous Bengal Man Brutally Attacks Wife for Having ‘Online Friends’

A man in West Bengal slit his wife’s throat with a vegetable cutter after frequent arguments over her social media activity and online friends, according to police. The incident took place in Harinarayanpur, South 24 Parganas district’s Joynagar. The couple’s minor son discovered his mother’s lifeless body in a pool of blood after returning home. The boy revealed that his parents, Parimal and Aparna Baidya, often fought, and his father had previously threatened to dismember his mother. Parimal attacked Aparna with a “boti,” resulting in her death, as reported by a neighbor. Police suspect that Parimal killed his wife due to disapproval of her social media activity and the friends she made online. Aparna was 32 years old. Parimal is currently missing, and a search team has been formed to locate him. Aparna’s body has undergone a post-mortem examination, and the murder weapon has been recovered.
