Jwala Gutta Safely Rescued by Boat Amidst Cyclone Ravaged Chennai

Chennai, the capital of Tamil Nadu, experienced heavy rainfall on Monday as a result of Cyclone Michaung. The torrential downpour caused flooding in various parts of the city, disrupting the lives of its residents. Although the rain has ceased, many areas of Chennai are still submerged, especially low-lying regions.

Amidst the chaos and rising waters, badminton player Jwala Gutta found herself in need of rescue. She, along with Bollywood actor Aamir Khan, was saved by the fire and rescue department in a boat. Jwala Gutta expressed her gratitude for the emergency and rescue services by sharing pictures of the operation on social media. She captioned the post, “Huge huge respect to the emergency services, fire and rescue services who are working day and night to rescue people like us stranded in flooded communities.” One of the photos also featured her husband, Tamil actor and producer Vishnu Vishal.

Prior to the rescue, Vishnu Vishal had posted pictures from his flooded house to highlight the extent of the situation. He mentioned that water was entering his house in Karapakkam and that he had called for help. With no electricity, wifi, or phone signal, Vishnu Vishal could only access a signal from his terrace. He expressed his empathy for the people of Chennai and hoped that they would receive help soon.

The fire and rescue service promptly responded to the distress call, sending boats for the rescue operation. Vishnu Vishal took to social media once again to express his gratitude and admiration for the efforts of the fire and rescue department. He thanked them for their assistance and commended the Tamil Nadu government for their exemplary work during such challenging times. Vishnu Vishal also shared pictures of the rescue operation, showcasing the three boats that were already in action in Karapakkam.

In another post, Vishnu Vishal revealed that more than 30 people, including elderly individuals, were rescued from their villa community. He expressed his appreciation for the firemen who not only helped them but also extended their aid to others in Karapakkam. Additionally, they provided the rescuers with some food that they had available.

The heavy rain and flooding brought Chennai to a standstill, resulting in the loss of seventeen lives due to rain-related incidents. The city has been severely affected by the cyclone, with ten cases of drowning and electrocution reported. The Greater Chennai Police have been providing necessary medical assistance to those affected by the disaster.

Overall, the rescue efforts in Chennai have been commendable, with the fire and rescue department working tirelessly to save lives and alleviate the suffering caused by the cyclone. The selfless dedication of these emergency services deserves immense respect and recognition.
