Marvel Parts Ways with Jonathan Majors After Guilty Verdict

Marvel Studios has announced that they will no longer be working with actor Jonathan Majors following his conviction on Monday for assault and harassment charges. Majors, known for his roles as Kang The Conqueror in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and “Loki,” was being set up as a major villain in the Marvel franchise. However, after a jury found him guilty of assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Marvel decided to sever ties with the actor.

The criminal trial for Majors began in early December after he was arrested on charges of assault and harassment. His ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari, accused him of physically assaulting her during an altercation over a text message on Majors’ phone. Majors initially denied the allegations and claimed that Jabbari was the assailant. However, after a two-week trial, the jury found him guilty of third-degree assault and second-degree harassment.

In addition to being dropped by Marvel, Majors has also been dropped by his publicity firm, The Lede Company, and his talent agency, Entertainment 360. He was also pulled from a film called “The Man in My Basement.” It is unclear at this time what Marvel plans to do with the character of Kang the Conqueror, as Majors was set to play a significant role in the upcoming film “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”

Majors is scheduled to be sentenced on February 6 and could face up to a year in prison. Marvel has not provided any further details on their plans for the character or if they will recast the role.
