Interior Minister Moshe Arbel is taking active measures to address the housing crisis in the Druze sector through a substantial program. This program is estimated to cost around NIS 1.5 billion, demonstrating the government’s commitment to resolving this critical issue.
The initiative was thoughtfully prepared by Rafi Almaliah, the Director General of Engineering, in collaboration with Col. Assam Hamed, Reserve. Hamed holds the esteemed position of Special Adviser for Engineering and Construction in the Druze Sector. Their joint efforts and in-depth knowledge have been instrumental in devising this comprehensive plan.
As per the information provided by Kalkalist, a renowned source, the program encompasses several significant components. One of the primary aspects of this program is the construction of a new Druze settlement in the picturesque region of Western Galilee. This new settlement will not only provide a solution to the housing crisis but also offer a fresh start and a new home for the Druze community.
Moreover, the program is not limited to just building new homes but also involves a colossal investment in the necessary infrastructure. This investment will facilitate the expansion and renewal of the housing stock in the already existing Druze villages, ensuring a better quality of life for the residents.
Furthermore, the program also proposes the construction of long-term rental projects, offering a sustainable solution to the housing crisis. These projects will ensure that the Druze community has access to affordable housing in the long run. Additionally, the program also suggests the construction of multi-storey housing, thereby maximizing the use of available space and accommodating more residents.
