MPs Who Resigned After Election Victory Hold Meeting with Prime Minister, BJP Holds Strategy Session on Chief Ministership

The process of selecting Chief Ministers for three key states, just ahead of next year’s general elections, has commenced with a major meeting of top BJP leaders at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s official residence in New Delhi. Alongside PM Modi and Union Minister Amit Shah, the meeting is being attended by 12 MPs who resigned from parliament after winning the assembly polls.

This meeting marks the second consecutive session, following a four-hour huddle held yesterday. Earlier this week, the BJP successfully gained control of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh from the Congress and maintained its hold on Madhya Pradesh, despite concerns of anti-incumbency.

In all three states, the party contested the elections without a Chief Ministerial candidate, instead relying on the popularity of PM Modi. This strategy proved to be highly successful. However, now that victory has been achieved, the question of who will lead these states has arisen. Speculation about new faces and a search for fresh leadership has been circulating since Sunday.

The current frontrunners for the Chief Minister position in Rajasthan include Vasundhara Raje, Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, veteran Kirori Lal Meena, and state BJP chief CP Joshi. However, the final decision rests with the Central leadership, as the prominent leaders of these states have deferred the decision-making process to them.

As the BJP continues its deliberations, the country eagerly awaits the announcement of the Chief Ministers for these crucial states.
