Olivia Dunne Conducts Prank Call

Gymnast and social media influencer Olivia Dunne recently attempted to prank her boyfriend, baseball player Paul Skenes, in a video that she shared on TikTok. However, the reaction she received from him was not quite what she had expected.

In the video, Dunne claimed that she had landed an influencer contract with Exxon Mobil and would be working as an underwater welder on an oil rig. Despite her attempts to explain the supposed dangers of creating content on an oil rig, Skenes, who is a player for the Pittsburgh Pirates, remained nonchalant and dismissive.

Skenes responded to Dunne’s announcement with a simple “Okay”, and continued to show indifference even when Dunne tried to emphasize the potential risks of her new “job”. “They don’t ask you to do anything you can’t do. It’s going just fine,” he replied.

Dunne then expressed her surprise at his lackluster response, saying, “Not exactly the answer I expected. An encouraging king.”

Dunne’s nearly eight million TikTok followers also found Skenes’ reaction unexpected and somewhat baffling. Many commented on his indifference, and some even speculated that he might not understand what an underwater welder does. One commenter likened the conversation to one they would have with a two-year-old.

With regards to Dunne’s career, at 21, she is one of the highest-paid college athletes, earning approximately three million euros last year. The majority of her income comes from her social media platforms. However, towards the end of last year, she noticed a decline in the views on her TikTok videos, which she attributed to being shadow banned, meaning her content was no longer appearing in users’ feeds.
