PM Modi’s Special Gesture Revealed by Ravindra Jadeja Following India’s World Cup Final Defeat

The Indian cricket team suffered a heartbreaking loss in the final of the Cricket World Cup 2023 against Australia at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. Despite their unbeaten run throughout the tournament, Rohit Sharma’s men couldn’t overcome the final hurdle, leaving their dream of lifting the trophy unfulfilled. Understandably, the Indian players were dejected after the loss. However, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the dressing room to offer his support and motivate the players.

Ravindra Jadeja, a crucial member of the Indian team, took to social media to share PM Modi’s special gesture after the match. Jadeja tweeted, “We had a great tournament but we ended up short yesterday. We are all heartbroken but the support of our people is keeping us going. PM @narendramodi’s visit to the dressing room yesterday was special and very motivating,” along with a picture of PM Modi in the Indian team’s dressing room.

PM Modi was present at the stadium to witness the clash between the two cricketing giants. He even presented the World Cup trophy to Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins, after their victory.

The highly anticipated Indian team, led by captain Rohit Sharma, entered the final in front of nearly 100,000 fans in Ahmedabad, undefeated and favored to win the one-day crown. However, they were outplayed by Australia, suffering a six-wicket defeat and leaving players, fans, and pundits disappointed once again.

India’s record in major tournaments is a painful reminder for their millions of passionate supporters. Their last global title came a decade ago in the 2013 Champions Trophy. Sunday’s loss was also their second defeat to Australia in a final within five months, following their loss in the World Test Championship decider in June.

Although India has won the one-day World Cup twice, in 1983 and 2011, they have stumbled at the semi-final stage in 2015 and 2019.

It is clear that the Indian team will need to regroup and work towards their next opportunity for glory. With the support of their fans and the motivation provided by PM Modi, they will aim to bounce back stronger in future tournaments.
