Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, a Congress leader, has criticized Jyotiraditya Scindia, who was once her friend but is now her rival, calling him a “traitor” who has betrayed the people’s mandate. Priyanka made these remarks during her campaign in Datia, Madhya Pradesh. She also took a dig at Scindia’s personality, saying that while his height might be short, his arrogance is commendable.
According to Priyanka, workers who approached Scindia had to address him as “Maharaj” in order to have their issues addressed. She accused him of following his family’s tradition of betrayal. She claimed that many people, including Scindia, have betrayed the people of Gwalior and Chamba, leading to the fall of the government.
In response, Scindia fired back at Priyanka, suggesting that she should reflect on her own arrogance before teaching others. He took to social media to share his thoughts, stating that Priyanka, as a part-time leader, lacks the ability to understand the difference between the traditions of his family and hers. He also accused the Gandhi family of giving away Indian land to China and defaming the country in international forums.
Scindia further asserted that the people of Madhya Pradesh are ready to sweep the Congress away from the state. He has been actively criticizing his former party, accusing them of neglecting the welfare of women, favoring Rahul Gandhi, and failing to bring about development.
It is worth noting that Scindia had previously been a member of the Congress but switched to the BJP in 2020, along with over 20 MLAs, resulting in the downfall of the Kamal Nath government. Despite these actions, Scindia denies having any personal ambitions for power, claiming that his family is dedicated to development and public service.
The state of Madhya Pradesh, along with Chhattisgarh, will be voting in the upcoming elections. Today marked the last day of campaigning in both states.
