Ranbir Kapoor’s Movie Smashes the 200 Crore Milestone

Ranbir Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna-starrer “Animal” has made a staggering entry into the ₹200-crore club within just three days of its release. The film, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, collected ₹131.07 crore in the first two days at the domestic box office. On the third day, it added ₹72.50 crore to its tally, with ₹64.80 crore coming from the Hindi version and ₹7.70 crore from the south Indian languages. Overall, the film has amassed ₹203.57 crore so far. Audiences have not only praised the performances of Kapoor and Mandanna, but also the work of Bobby Deol, Anil Kapoor, Triptii Dimri, and Shakti Kapoor.

Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared the day 2 collection figures of “Animal” on social media. He mentioned that the film earned ₹67.27 crore on Saturday, with the Hindi version contributing ₹58.37 crore and the south Indian languages earning ₹8.90 crore at the box office.

In his tweet, Adarsh described “Animal” as a box office monster and highlighted its outstanding response from both metros and non-metros. He also predicted that the film’s third-day business would place it among the biggest opening weekend earners of all time.

However, film critic Saibal Chatterjee gave “Animal” a low rating of 1.5 stars in his review for NDTV. He criticized the film for glorifying violence and portraying the protagonist as a boorish individual who resorts to extreme measures to protect his family. Chatterjee also highlighted the lack of romance and subtlety in the film.

“Animal” clashed with Meghna Gulzar’s “Sam Bahadur” at the box office, as both films were released on December 1.
