Realme 12 Pro with Periscope Zoom Set to Debut in Europe on March 12

Realme, a leading smartphone brand, has officially announced the launch date of its new Realme 12 Pro series. The release is scheduled for March 12, 2024, and the flagship feature of this new series is the periscopic telephoto lens. This lens boasts a 3X optical zoom, which is equivalent to a focal length of 71 mm, and is accompanied by a ½ inch OV64B sensor, the largest in its category. The smartphone’s Omnifocal Photography System further enhances its camera capabilities, incorporating a Sony IMX890 main camera equipped with OIS for superior night images and an ultra-wide-angle camera. This unique combination provides a zoom range of 0.6X to 6X, ensuring clarity and detail at all focal lengths. Additionally, this camera setup is complemented by a digital zoom feature that can extend up to 120X.

The Realme 12 Pro series also exhibits impressive software prowess. The series is powered by a next-generation algorithm that has been developed in collaboration with tech giant Qualcomm. This algorithm includes innovative image enhancement features such as the LightFusion Engine and NightEye Engine, which are designed to deliver higher quality night images. Furthermore, Realme has partnered with Claudio Miranda, an Oscar-winning director of photography. This collaboration has resulted in introducing three customized video filters inspired by Miranda’s most acclaimed works. Users also have the option to shoot in the 2.39:1 cinema format, and a Cinematic Bokeh algorithm is available for portraits.

From a design perspective, the Realme 12 Pro series will debut in two distinct colors, Submarine Blue and Navigator Beige. These colors are inspired by luxury chronographs, and the series also boasts a collaboration with renowned watch designer Ollivier Savéo. The Realme 12 Pro series will be available in a variety of configurations from March 12, with the prices to be announced at a later date.
